Computer Mentor Program
The Computer Mentor Program is receiving help from a fellow Club member on a computer problem or new program, over the phone, at either your home site or using Resort Computers. The SIGs share knowledge in a "group setting". Computer Help shares knowledge via a "one-on-one" basis. The goal is the same, "Users Helping Users
Special Interest Groups and Classes
(Sign-up sheets are in the Computer Room Foyer and are also available at weekly Thursday am meetings)
Special Interest Groups (SIGs) are users helping users. A SIG is made up of people interested in the same computer-related subject. They will meet to share knowledge through discussions, "show and tell", guest speakers or whatever helps the group to learn. Members of the group decide what format the meetings should take to meet their needs. Since SIGs are not classes, a SIG leader is a facilitator and not a teacher. He or she may not be an expert in the program or product discussed.
Classes are taught either as hands-on where the size is limited to the number of computers available in the Learning Center portion of our Lab or in a normal classroom setting and both use a projector and screen. All of our teachers or demonstrators are volunteers.
